A few years ago, Matt Riddle was one of the household names in WWE. He reached the peak of his run while teaming with Randy Orton. However, WWE released him in 2023. Now that the Original Bro has departed from the company, he recently shed light on his real-life beef with the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, that affected his work and schedule in WWE.

Speaking on The Bubba Army podcast, the former United States Champion revealed that, in an interview, he issued some bold statements about Roman Reigns. He revealed that it didn’t please the Head of the Table, as he later texted him for being unprofessional. The Original Bro said that the Needle Mover was so upset with him thereafter that he even called him “b*tch” a couple of times backstage.

I said, ‘What’s up, Roman?’ but he didn’t say a word and just walked by. It was awkward. As we were walking past each other, he didn’t respond, but about five or ten steps away, I heard him call me a b*tch.

The former RKBro member stated that he went off on The Bloodline and The Tribal Chief in an interview during COVID. He claimed that he only said what WWE asked him to and informed the Needle Mover of that. However, Reigns didn’t accept the apology. Riddle revealed that even Randy Orton warned him about the repercussions he would face from the record-breaking champion.

Moreover, the real-life heat between Riddle and Reigns seemingly cooled down as time passed by. The two stars even shared the ring on a couple of occasions before the expected release of Matt Riddle. Similarly, the latter had backstage heat with several other top stars, including Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar. In addition to that, his off-screen behavior raised concerns with management, ultimately leading to his departure.

The real-life heat between Roman Reigns and Matt Riddle had been long speculated on by fans on social media. After Riddle confirmed the same, a former WWE personality divulged more details about Reigns’ animosity for The Original Bro.

Speaking on The Wrestling Matt, Matt Camp revealed that during the interviews, WWE used to keep Reigns and Riddle away from each other. He disclosed that Riddle always knew that the Head of the Table had problems with him. Despite that, the former US Champion would find ways to poke the bear.

The funny part, little side part, of that show is Riddle was the in-studio guest, and we 100 percent did not put Riddle on the set until Roman was gone off the video screen. Just not gonna mess with that. And then Riddle went and said something dumb about Roman, like, right after that in another interview.

As mentioned previously, Riddle was involved in a bunch of controversies during his time with WWE. In fact, it was rumored that UFC president Dana White also played a major role in his release from WWE following the TKO merger.
