No matter what you tell about him, Patrick Beverley is amongst the biggest trash-talkers in the NBA. He has developed himself into one of the fiercest defenders in the league. Beverly is one of those players, who have established their position on the team, just by their defensive prowess. What he did against the Portland Trail Blazers and Damian Lillard was nothing short of excellent defense. However, what stood out for the Los Angeles Lakers player in the game was his audacity to clown Dame in front of his own crowd.
With over 30 seconds remaining on the clock, in the 4th quarter, Trail Blazers were down 112-119 in the game. As Beverly walked back towards the defensive floor, right in front of his teammates and coach, he made a gesture, that attracted the attention of Twitter fans and fans in the stadium. While walking back, he was seen signaling that the watch is damaged and he was trying to fix it. In simple words he was taunting Damian Lillard with his own celebration of “Dame Time.” A celly Dame does after drilling clutch buckets.
Dame Dolla signals to his wrist, with his finger, showing its time, “Dame Time.” Perhaps, the signal that Beverley was making against the Blazers star was that the 6x NBA All-Star couldn’t switch on his game after being locked on offense by Beverley. Lillard and the Lakers player have previously been involved in trash-talking on multiple occasions. Most famously, when Beverley was with Clippers, he and the entire team on the bench made fun of Lillard for missing free throws in the playoffs.
